Biography
| I am not what you would call 'naturally artistic'. I was born without the ability to draw, paint or any other means of traditional media. However I have a naturally artistic mind; I can find beauty, art and meaning in anything I see and I often dream and think of scenes or creatures I was unable to draw or paint. I don't know if anyone else can realize how frustrating this was for me. Photography had always been something I'd wanted to do, but my parents never took that seriously - cameras were expensive and they didn't want to spend the money on something that wouldn't be used. It wasn't until the summer of 2005, when my boyfriend bought me paintshop pro, that I realized there were other ways to express myself - mainly, photomanipulation. I had been aware for years of these programs, but I had always considered them unattainable. It took many discouraging weeks before I was able to create something acceptable in psp - although now that I look back at my earlier work, I can only laugh. I was absolutely hooked, though, and spent every waking minute working on images. The following winter my future brother-in-law brought me his copy of Photoshop CS2 - he had no idea or desire to use it and it was something he had gotten for cheap from the university. I've been using this lovely program ever since. I've been at deviantart only a short while, but I believe I've improved quite a bit since! Recently, for my birthday, I recieved a digital camera so I've been experimenting quite a bit with photography. I hope to get better in both areas so any comments or critiques are encouraged! If you do decide to buy a print, know that I appreciate it more than words can tell. <3 |
